This episode of City Voices features Gaby Toro who grew up in Caracas, Venezuela and who now works as a Foreign Language Specialist with Memphis City Schools.  She talks about the experience of moving to the United States at the age of eleven and the big adjustments involved in that transition.

In this segment, I talk to Wanda Woodruff who had the great pleasure of witnessing the inauguration of Barack Obama, the 44th United States President.  She describes the excitement and hope of that day.

After a 4-month hiatus from City Voice recordings, I'm back.  In this episode, I interviewed Papa (Herbert Hopper) about how he met and married my mother, Mildred Kidd Putnam.  They were married at the ages of 84 and 80.  Mom passed away in September 2008.
